From #1 New York Times bestselling author Colleen Hoover, a new novel about risking everything for love—and finding your heart somewhere between the truth and lies.
Auburn Reed has her entire life mapped out. Her goals are in sight and there’s no room for mistakes. But when she walks into a Dallas art studio in search of a job, she doesn’t expect to find a deep attraction to the enigmatic artist who works there, Owen Gentry.
For once, Auburn takes a risk and puts her heart in control, only to discover Owen is keeping major secrets from coming out. The magnitude of his past threatens to destroy everything important to Auburn, and the only way to get her life back on track is to cut Owen out of it.
The last thing Owen wants is to lose Auburn, but he can’t seem to convince her that truth is sometimes as subjective as art. All he would have to do to save their relationship is confess. But in this case, the confession could be much more destructive than the actual sin…
#1 Confession
I’ve realised that I’m actually very biased when it comes to Colleen Hoover’s books. I’ve always loved her writing and I have every single one of her books so my review might be a little tricky since there wasn’t one book that I disliked from Colleen.
#2 Confession
Okay…so the cover design of the book kinda pushed me to reading it a little bit late because I’m always scared of pretty books since they intimidate me, but of course it wasn’t just the design that scared the shit out of me. It’s Colleen Hoover’s book so I’m bound to be crying my eyes out. Who ever gets used to that?
#3 Confession
Not a big fan of the instalove-ish in the story. The girl is gorgeous and the guy is brooding, duuuuh! I get tired of reading those. Still, I enjoyed a little moment of love at first sight. I’m glad that Colleen didn’t push the whole I-Love-You moment in the story. It felt right most of the time.
#4 Confession
Owen Mason Gentry/ OMG was too good to be true. HE IS TOO GOOD. I don’t think such a person exists. That’s what I like about Colleen’s books, you just never expect the expected or the cliche. It was refreshing to read that OMG was more than selfless. (I will not be sharing any other aspects of Prince Charming, that’s for you to find out.)
#5 Confession
Fate? That’s a bunch of BS to me. Turns out Auburn and Owen shared the same middle name, Mason. Coincidence? I think not! That is the magic hands of Colleen. But I have to confess that I never got the whole same middle name thing means having a connection or a fated destiny with. It’s interesting enough that they shared more than just their middle names.
#6 Confession
Obviously, I loved this book with all my might, but I needed more closure from Trey and Lydia. They were both asshats. I hated that Auburn could still see some good in that bitch-Lydia. I just don’t think the ending did much of a finale. That’s one of my worse confessions…I just expected better, more dynamism and heroine-action. I got cliche and the obvious.
#7 Confession
Hm…I did a lot of thinking and analysing for a week now and I’ve come to conclude that Confess deserves 4 stars from me. The concept of the book is really unique. Art is something that’s commonly used in story lines, but Hoover brought the standards even higher. It’s an amazing book with so much emotion, drama and pain.
Hope you all enjoyed my confessions!
